I'll be completely honest and admit that when I heard the individual name of Milan Williams, it didn't register at all with me. However, when you put it in perspective that he was one of the original Commodores, it carried more weight. Milan passed away at the age of 58 from cancer.
The Commodores peaked when I was just a shortie, but I still remember them in their prime. I distinctly recall hearing them for the first time at Grandma Turner's house and seeing a poster Rochelle had of them on her wall. One thing I also remember cleary thinking was "what in the world is a Commodore anyway?"
Milan's passing had me wondering how come a Commodores reunion never took place. I know everyone except Lionel Richie could have definitely used the money. And he could have used a resurgence to remind us of how he got where he is today. No disrespect to Milan, but there is still time. Make it happen, frat.
