Today was the first time in quite a while that I've had a chance to fly commercial. As I had mentioned in a previous entry, I'm not really a fan of flying in the first place. Couple that with the fact that I tend to get overly paranoid and it's not a pretty sight. Ever since seeing that "United 93" movie, I've been moreso weirded out. So guess what airline I end up flying today? That's right...United.
I know this is really bad, but whenever I fly I'm always looking around me for anyone that could have that potential terrorist look. Then if I find one I start checking my carry-on luggage for anything I could use as a weapon in case I have to conspire with my fellow passengers to overtake the bad guys. The most dangerous thing I could find was my cell phone that I could maybe throw at them. Luckily, I didn't see anyone that looked like that they could be al Queda so I didn't need it afterall.
To make matters worse, the flight was delayed about half an hour. They didn't find a bomb on board, did they?! No, it turns out it was because the flight crew came in late last night. Well maybe they shouldn't have been out partying all night before their early morning flight the next day.
I thought that meant the connecting flight would be delayed as well. I wouldn't be so lucky. We get to O'Hare and find out that flight is on time and was now boarding. Good thing the terminal was so close to where our flight landed. NOT! I had to make like the old OJ commercial, flying thru the airport like a crazed man.
After all that and I get to Columbus having to go directly to a meeting. I was fighting some MAJOR jet lag. I'm definitely treating myself to a night out at that AMC dream theater before I leave.
