There may have been several things in history that many people may have fabricated for one reason or another. Then again, there will always be conspiracy theorists who will contend that even the most factual things are false. For instance, it's unbelievable to me that some people seriously still think that Neil Armstrong and his pals never landed on the moon.
All naysayers of historical fact pale in comparison to those that dispute the Holocaust. That's one of the few things that still amaze me to this day. How in the world can anyone in their sane, logical mind really believe that that horrific event never occurred? With as many eyewitnesses in the survivors, photographed evidence and whatnot, you would have to be a complete idiot to think otherwise. Or at the very least, a complete loser.
For that reason, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tops the list this week. He spoke at an international conference questioning the Holocaust referring to the killing of 6 million Jews in World War II as a "myth". Oh, and decided to throw in that Israel should be "wiped off the map".
While I'm ranting, what about this conference? They seriously have a conference where this is actually debated? Who's idea was this? I would love to see some of the types of characters an event like this would attract. Moreover, if Mahmoud is supposedly one of the more educated people there in attendance, I would be interested to hear some comments from the other morons in relation to him.
I love it how Mahmmy tries to defend his statements by saying that it's free speech and other countries should respect those beliefs. This is coming from a man who's the president of a country that is the one of the worst violators of freedom of speech. They shut down newspapers, jail journalists and block access to websites in efforts to stifle their constituents.
Too bad someone so evil has to resemble one of my favorite comedians. It's almost bitter irony when you think about it. Anyone as ignorant as Mahmmy is a joke.
