The Legend of "Junior" Is Still Safe

The news of a man getting pregnant and preparing to give birth was pretty amazing when I first heard it.  I was sitting there thinking that the movie "Junior" had finally been realized.  Someone did ultimately figure out how men can share in the birth-giving process.  Wouldn't Arnold and Danny DeVito be proud?! 

Then I discovered it was all a sham.

Thomas Beatie isn't a man.  I know there may be some GLAD activists out there who disagree with me but I'm sorry, it's the truth.  This person is a woman that had chest reconstruction surgery and took hormones to become masculine.  She kept the female parts.  For all intensive purposes, she's still a woman.  If she wasn't she wouldn't be able to have a baby.  Bottom line.

Now Beatie and her wife are in the news again because she's knocked up again.  I just don't get how this is relevant news.  Why are there still some major news outlets trying to pass this chick off as "the pregnant man"?!  It's a lady who looks like a dude having a baby.  There's nothing newsworthy about that.

My biggest thing is the most obvious.  If she really wanted to be a man, then why is she having the babies?  Isn't that probably the most beautiful thing about a woman is the ability to give life?  So Beatie basically wants to be selfish and still have that luxury but put on a man's costume and have the world attempt to applaud her for making history. 

Sorry, Tomalina.  I may have been born yesterday, but I stayed up all night.  You're a woman.  You may be a hairy woman, but you're a woman nonetheless.  The two of you are nothing more than another lesbian couple having babies.  Lesbian couples do it all the time so there's nothing special about what the two of you are doing.  Please go somewhere, sit down and shut up.
