I probably could have had this cat on here much sooner. He had done plenty to make the list several times over. I think I was just waiting to see how much more of a hole Charlie Sheen could dig himself in before I made it official. Technically, that could have been weeks ago. So maybe I procrastinated a little. But the more time that passes, the bigger of a Mr. Bungles Sheen is turning out to be.
First off, let it be known that I am NOT a Charlie Sheen fan. I just don't think he is that funny at all. His best work was probably in "Major League" and that was only because he was surrounded by so much great talent. That seemed to be the case throughout his career. It certainly was the case when he went to "Spin City". How in the world do you go from Michael J. Fox to Charlie Sheen and think that's a suitable replacement?? I know it's difficult to follow a legend, but they could have tried better than that.
Forgive me if you must, but I just don't see the big deal with "Two and Half Men". I will never understand how that is the number one show in the country. It wouldn't even make my top 100. I tried watching it on a few different occasions to see what the big deal was. Sorry, but there was just nothing humorous about it at all. I even gave it a couple of tries to impress me. If it takes more than that and I still don't laugh, the show has no chance with me.
Then there was the whole tirade that Sheen has been on lately. The one that eventually got him kicked off the show. Everything I could see proved that ABC was perfectly right in firing them. He was being about as disrespectful as you could possibly be. If he were trying to do that mess in the REAL world, he would have been canned long before he was. But because he's an actor on a top-rated sitcom he gets a pass? Unfortunately, I know that's the way our society thinks. Kudos to ABC for thinking otherwise.
What really bugs me most about this whole Charlie Sheen thing is that people are actually celebrating him. They think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. They think that his ranting and corresponding antics are pure comedy. It's sad that there are that many people around that would be so quick to encourage this loser. Wanting to watch a trainwreck in action is one thing. Applauding that trainwreck because you think it's amusing to see is another thing entirely.
The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I found out Sheen was pretty much a dog killer. He neglected his pug to the point where it became malnourished and eventually died. Folks crucified Vick for his treatment of dogs but this incident gets brushed under the rug? Not in my book. It's just further proof that Sheen is about a big of an arse as they come.
All the kool-aid drinkers can say call Sheen "winning" all they want. He's going to remain a loser in my book for quite some time.
