I had said quite a while ago that one thing I would try to stay away from when doing this category was those crimes involving murder. Or the "alleged" accidental murder. It just seemed like something too easy to attack. I could peruse the news every day and come up with some ideal candidates if I went that route. But every now and then there's a story that I hear about that is clearly the exception to the rule. The reason being that it is just so horrible that I can't remain silent about it. This was definitely one.
21-year-old Kimberly Clark of the Bronx was recently arrested recently and charged with the murder of her 5-year old son for beating him to death. Apparently she was so upset that he broke the television while playing the Wii that she beat him "harder than she's ever hit him." For five days he complained of terrible pain and vomiting blood. She refused to take him to the hospital because she was afraid to get in trouble with authorities. Jamar Clark eventually died late on Friday of an infection from a lacerated pancreas and intestine.
I could barely even get thru just that description without seriously getting sick to my stomach. I want to say that anyone with children will undoubtedly have the same reaction. However, I think anyone with any type of soul at all, regardless if they have children or not, would feel the same way. This horrible woman has easily got to be one of the worst excuses for a mother in the history of bad mothers. Ever.
Several things upset me about this story with one of the biggest being her inactivity to her son's injuries. She sat there and watched her own flesh and blood suffer agonizing injuries for five days. Her own son was basically dying in front of her very eyes. She did nothing as he suffered a slow, painful death for FIVE DAYS! A little 5-year-old boy. I don't see how ANY human being could possibly do that.
I have often said that I don't know how some attorneys can take on the clients that they do with the heinous acts they have committed. This would be one of those. Even if they tried to argue that it wasn't truly murder since she didn't intentionally try to kill her child (which apparently really is her lawyer's argument), that's only the icing on the crap cake. The fact still remains that she KNEW her son was in horrific pain. She KNEW there was something wrong with him yet she did nothing.
One could say that this is a perfect argument for the point that babies shouldn't be having babies. But it's not like she was a teenager. She was old enough to know better. She is just a pitiful excuse for a human being. They can save the New York taxpayers money by not wasting it on a trial. Just move right to the punishment. Injure her sorry behind bad enough so she can see what it felt like to die slowly for five days. And even that wouldn't be good enough for what she did. That special place below is holding a spot for her.
