We got on the road late today around 7pm-ish since we had to wait for D to get off work at 5:15. After all the packing and the "got to go back, we forgot something" trips, it took us that long to finally get on the road.
I hadn't slept for quite a while since I woke up at 5:30am so I was a little worried about how I would fare on the drive. Part of the reason was because I had to watch the Iowa game of the tourney when I should have been resting. No one believed me that when I said they wouldn't get past the second round and they didn't even get past the FIRST round! Of course I had to call my boy E and rub it in. That always feels good.
Stopped to get some MDX and I cannot stress enough how effective that stuff is! Two bottles of that and I was flying high. Didn't so much as even yawn the entire 5 hour drive in pitch black night...and you all know how much I hate night driving. Thanks to good ol' MDX, a brotha felt invincible. I probably could have went another three or four hours easy but the Bloomington fam was expecting us and I wasn't going to let them down. At least now I know what to get to get motivated for the 17+ hours of driving that still lies ahead.
I estimated our time of arrival at 12am. No exaggeration here, we pulled into Mom and Dad's driveway at midnight right on the nose. Sometimes it's not so bad being right all the time. Found out when I got there that Dad had just went to KC to see Popoo (Dad's dad) and Grandma but everyone else was wide awake, with the exception my youngest nephew, Teandra's son, Justus. Pretty cute little fella, ain't he? Now if he would just learn to sit up and start walking.
After visiting for an hour, I had started to come down off the MDX high and hit the sack. Man down at 1:30am.
